01 / CAMERA & AUDIO

Your screen, with you in the corner

Put your webcam in any of the four corners so viewers can see you as you explain. Record your voice and computer audio together.

02 / LIVE PREVIEW

See what you’re capturing

A live preview helps you check your frame. A soft blue border marks the recording area and turns amber when paused. The glow stays out of your saved video.

03 / A FINISHING TOUCH

Keep the useful part

Cut a slow start or an extra few seconds at the end. Save the trimmed clip as a new MP4 and keep your original.

A few things to know

Before you
press record.

When can I download Takebud?

Takebud is coming soon. The Windows download will appear on this page when the public release is ready.

What is Takebud?

Takebud is a Windows screen recorder. Capture your screen and add your webcam, microphone, and computer audio as needed. Recordings save as MP4 files on your PC.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once installed, Takebud records without an internet connection or an account. Its runtime and video engine are included.

Which operating systems are supported?

Windows 10 and 11 on x64-compatible PCs.

Can I record my webcam and computer audio together?

Yes. Enable the webcam, microphone, and computer audio options you need before recording.

Can I make vertical videos?

Yes. Takebud includes portrait presets for Shorts and Reels, plus landscape, square, and 4:5 formats.

Can I pause or trim recordings?

Yes. Pause and resume without leaving the break in your video. Trim the beginning or end into a separate MP4 copy; your original stays intact.

Where are recordings saved?

In the Windows Videos\Still folder. Takebud was previously called Still and retains the folder name for compatibility. “Open recordings” opens the folder.

Will it record every window or game?

Some minimized windows, protected media, games, and hardware-accelerated surfaces may appear blank. Keep recorded windows visible; display capture in windowed mode may help.

Why might Windows show an installation warning?

The current build is unsigned and may trigger a Windows reputation warning. Review the download source and the information Windows provides before deciding whether to install.

Where can I report a bug or contribute?

The code and issue tracker aren’t public yet. Links for reporting bugs, suggesting improvements, and contributing will appear here when they’re ready.

Show. Record. Carry on.
