Desktop apps

Build a better tool for work at your desk.

Some work needs an installed application: handling local files, working without a connection, or interacting with equipment. I build desktop tools around those requirements and plan installation, updates, and data storage from the start.

Scope of work

What your project can include.

Your proposal confirms what you will receive, what I need from you, and how we will review the work. We choose from the areas below to suit your business.

01

Focused desktop workflows

Screens and shortcuts for the tasks your staff repeat, with clear progress and error messages.

02

Local files and data

Agreed import, export, and storage features so the app can work with the files your business uses.

03

System connections

Connections to online systems or supported devices where access and compatibility have been confirmed.

04

Installation and handover

An installer for the supported operating systems, instructions for your team, and an agreed plan for updates.

How the work runs

A clear plan, with time to review.

  1. Step 01

    Check the working environment

We confirm operating systems, devices, file formats, network restrictions, and the essential workflow.

  2. Step 02

    Test with real examples

You try a working version with representative files and equipment so we can resolve practical issues early.

  3. Step 03

    Package for your team

I test installation and key tasks on the agreed systems, then document how to run and maintain the app.

Questions

Before we start.

Which operating systems can you support?

Windows and macOS can be included. We agree on specific versions and whether both platforms are needed before quoting.

Can it work entirely offline?

Yes, if the required workflow allows it. Features that depend on online services still need a connection, and local backups need to be planned.

Can it connect to a printer, scanner, or other device?

I check the device model, drivers, and available interfaces first. Hardware integration is scoped only after those requirements are understood.

Tell me what you need help with, what you use today, and any deadline. I will suggest a next step and outline the work and cost for you to review.
