Development services

APIs & integrations

Let your application work with the rest of your business.

I build APIs and integrations so your applications can share records without someone copying them by hand. We agree which information moves, who can access it, and what happens when an update fails.

Scope of work

What your project can include.

Your proposal confirms what you will receive, what I need from you, and how we will review the work. We choose from the areas below to suit your business.

01

A clear plan for your data

An agreement on the records, fields, and actions each system sends or receives.

02

Authenticated connections

Connections using the supported access method, with credentials kept out of public code.

03

Failure handling

Validation, useful logs, and appropriate retry or duplicate checks for the agreed operations.

04

Integration documentation

Setup notes and example requests so the connection can be understood and maintained.

How the work runs

A clear plan, with time to review.

  1. Step 01

    Check both systems

I review API access, documentation, limits, and sample records before defining the connection.

  2. Step 02

    Build and test exchanges

I test normal requests, invalid data, and unavailable services using suitable test accounts.

  3. Step 03

    Check the live connection

We confirm live access and check that the right people can see transferred records and failed updates.

Questions

Before we start.

Can you build an API for our own application?

Yes. We agree which systems will use it, what they can access, and the data they need before I build it.

What if our software has no API?

I check supported alternatives such as exports or approved connectors. The available options depend on the software and its access rules.

Does the data update immediately?

It can when the systems support event notifications. Otherwise, scheduled updates may be more practical, and we agree on the frequency.
